Helping others

Along with my knitting and social networking I believe very strongly in helping others to achieve their dream goals.  Whether it be able join a group to become a strong networker which I believe is a ultimate way of becoming successful in what we do.  Making friends and sharing your ideas and helping each other with our different talents and skills.

There are many people out there who would love to be able learn how to do things but are too shy to come forward.  Even in the group we have people who are shy, like myself and we encourage each other to come out of our shells to enjoy the company of others.  It is good to have similar hobbies yet at the same time it is great to learn a new hobby and skill.

As a crafter living in Pevensey Bay, UK, I have recently started to meet up with a group of fellow crafters in the area as a way of getting people interested in having a craft fare in the local area so that we as crafters can show people what we are doing and at the same time encourage others who could be looking for a new hobby to come discuss with us our hobbies.  Hence the reason I do promote on my page things that I think are fun and useful to others.

I believe in learning as much as I can to help others too.

Here a few ideas to help you get started to understand how the network market works.  I know ti works because I am building one now for the benefit of others.  Join us in Pevensey Bay, Ocean View Cafe/Bakery on the 7th April at 10.30, we hold meetings each month in the hope of getting a fare together by the mid summer for people to enjoy.

Mega Deal

Herstmonceux, East Sussex

On Saturday, a fellow crafter took me to visit this great little place The Malthouse is Herstmonceux, they had a stunning array of craft items which were incredible well priced.  The owner was a very pleasant lady and extremely helpful.

At the Malthouse they also have teaching of crafts from a wide range of teachers so it is a really good place to go for advice on any craft you may think you are interested in starting or need help with expanding your skills base.

The owner of the shop introduced me to a lady who was teaching painting with wax, something I had never seen before, it was a really lovely opportunity to meet other crafters as well.  The work was lovely and looked quite easy to learn, as with everything practice makes perfect.

The details of the shop are as follows along with their website and facebook page.

The Malthouse, Hailsham Road, Herstmonceux, BN27 4LH

The owner of the shops is called Suzanne Jones a lovely american lady.

Suzanne was telling me about all the local groups of crafters and arts colleges in the area.  As I am new to the area I am trying to make contact with people to help us develop a great network and in the process make some new friends along the way.  My own plans is to help develop the network so that we can organise a large craft fare in the Local areas.  We in Pevensey Bay are already looking at the prospect of this and hopefully encourage others to join us.

Hats

These two hats were made from Riot wool from King Cole.

King Cole Riot DK Knitting Wool/Yarn Ace 410 – per 100g ball
King Cole Riot DK Knitting Wool/Yarn Funky 409 – per 100g ball

two of the wide range they do have.  I am a keen supporter of King Cole yarns and was a distributor in Spain.  Now back in the UK, finding great places to buy the yarn has become a bit of an obsession.  I have and do get some supplies from ESK in Eastbourne, I have even met their Sales Manager the last time I was there.  As I had ordered a large quantity to send to Spain for me to sell out there.  I have now got to get my supplies back from Spain to use here.  I am happy to share what I make and my resources with you.
